Northpark history

Planning for Northpark began in the early 1990's. The land that Northpark was set upon was endowed with windrows of eucalyptus that were planted on the property in linear rows by the Irvine Company decades ago. Designers cherished the trees, even the layouts of Northpark's streets, parks, schools, homes and shopping centers reflect this careful planning to protect this treasured asset. The historic eucalyptus trees distinguish the village Northpark and enhance it's charm. During the initial development of Northpark, 40 home builders competed for the opportunity to build, only the top designs of 9 builders were selected, an emphasis was placed on a "California Classic" design. This careful attention to detail was carried out through the entire development process of Northpark all the way through to it completion in February 2003.
