Turtle Ridge history

Planning for Irvine's Turtle Ridge began in the late 1990's and was originally called Irvine "Planning Area 27" by Irvine's planners. The land that Turtle Ridge was set upon is benefited by it's elevevation, it's proximity to open space, and it's proximity to the ocean - some of the Turtle Ridge homes have ocean views! Turtle Ridge's Boomer canyon once was the center for the Irvine Company's cattle operation. Neighborhood planners took special care to add open space between Turtle Ridge's internal neighborhoods, parks, kike, and hiking trails. The majority of Irvine's Villages have a little open space between their internal neighborhoods - this is a distinction that sets Turtle Ridge apart. Initial grading of the land began in mid 2000, sales began in late 2001.

Turtle Ridge Neighborhoods The village of Turtle Ridge has 13 neighborhoods and 7 master builders that helped to build this beautiful community. Turtle Ridge planners made a special effort to infuse the homes with accents of Tuscany and Provence - noteable rustic architecture and old worldstone accents lend to the village's personality. Turtle Ridge's new year-round elementary school opening in 2006, Vista Verde is adjacent to the neighborhood. As a traditional alternative parents can send their elementary school children to either Bonita Canyon or Turtle Rock elementary schools.
